Sunday, October 21, 10:30 am – Plymouth Church, UCC will remember Matthew Shepard who, 20 years ago, was brutally attacked by two men, tied to a fence in a field outside Laramie, Wyoming, and left to die. His attackers targeted him for being gay. The service will include readings from Dennis Shepard’s Statement to the Court. The Plymouth Choir will offer music for reflection and hope. The Matthew Shepard Foundation has made hearts available for people to write a message of hope or encouragement. These hearts will be then be tied to a fence in the sanctuary and then brought outside as a public witness.
