Submitted by the Nominating Committee

Carol Neff – Carol Neff, SP, CAGO – I have served the Cleveland Chapter of the American Guild of Organists in many capacities.  I have served on the Executive Committee for several years, served as Sub-Dean and Dean, and chaired the 2003 Region V convention that we hosted in Cleveland.  I also have been the chair of the Scholarship Committee for many years.  I am the organist at Mayfield Church in Chesterland, since 1987.

I am willing to serve as the Secretary for our wonderful organization.  Being a member of the AGO has immensely advanced my skills as a church organist and I would like to help our organization prosper. I have met many fine colleagues and look forward to meeting many more!

Bios of 2020 AGO Cleveland Nominees

Zachary Bennett – Zach Bennett is a Cleveland native and a fairly recent addition to the Organ community. He is in his fourth year of ministry as Organist/Accompanist and Choir Director for Abram Creek Baptist Church in Brook Park, OH. Zach graduated from The University of Akron in 2016 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education. He is currently employed as a banker, teaches woodwinds in several school districts and maintains a studio of oboe students. Zach resides in a beautiful century home in Parma with his organ, an exotic collection of instruments and far too much sheet music.

Daeseum Lawson – Bio not available

Charlotte Beers Plank – Charlotte Beers Plank is the Associate Director of Music & Organist for First Congregational Church (UCC) in Hudson, Ohio, where she has served since 2015. She currently directs two children’s choirs, a women’s ensemble and accompanies a variety of different choral groups. She also maintains a small teaching studio for piano. This year, Charlotte will be starting an outreach program with Orgelkids USA through her church.

Charlotte earned a Bachelor of Music in organ performance and Bachelor of Arts in German studies from Oberlin College & Conservatory. She studied organ at Oberlin with Jack Mitchener and David Boe. Prior to that, she studied organ with Ralph Valentine in West Hartford, Connecticut. Charlotte served as the organist for Christ Episcopal Church in Oberlin, Ohio from 2010 to 2015. In 2015, she received her M.L.I.S. from Kent State University. She and her husband Aidan, an accomplished double-bassist, live in Twinsburg with their 2.5-year-old son Charlie, and cat Lily.

Ronald Potter – My name is Ron Potter, having served as your Treasurer many years ago, along with Juanita Shubert. I was associated with Church of the Saviour United Methodist, in Cleveland Heights and Epworth-Euclid United Methodist Church, in University Circle, as Minister of Finance and Administration. I am currently living in Medina, Ohio, and will be moving to Concordia at Sumner in Copley, Ohio. Thank you for your consideration.
